What is it about?

The project is a mobile application that allows us to measure capacity and social distancing within the CTI building using the existing infrastructure and the wireless network. The capacity can be measured through the wireless network by calculating the number of people who are in a specific area. If the number of people exceeds the configured threshold, an automatic alarm will be sent to the device indicating that the capacity allowed in said area has already been exceeded. Social distancing is carried out through the positioning of mobile devices and the calculation of the distances between them.

General objective:

Implement an integrated prototype system to control capacity and distancing of personnel entering the CTI building through the use of the CTI infrastructure and wireless network.

Project objectives:

  • Objective 1: Review the state of the art of the technologies used in existing systems that carry out controls of biosafety measures to identify their benefits and their feasibility of implementation in the CTI building.
  • Objective 2: Analyze the current infrastructure and wireless network by applying geolocation techniques to determine the location of the devices of the personnel entering CTI and the separation distance between said devices.
  • Objective 3: Implement an integrated and scalable system that allows the monitoring of areas and adequate compliance with the permitted capacity and social distancing through the use of the wireless network and the existing CTI infrastructure.

Project methodology:

  • Design and development of indoor positioning system based on network measurements.
  • Design and development of open source administration system.
  • Monitoring and management of control variables.
